Located on the west side of Watertown, this through girder bridge crosses Main Street (Wisconsin highway 19), near the intersection with Hiawatha Street.
Built in 1900 and widened in 1906 and 1913, the bridge consists of a single through girder span, set onto concrete substructures. Built for three tracks, the middle (1900) track was replaced at an unknown later date.
Girder spans like this are commonly used as underpasses, due to the ease of construction and little required maintenance.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in fair condition, with spalling, cracking and truck strike damage on the bridge.
The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
